I agree with you but the problem is that when you are arguing, you tends to think you are right and it takes very humble people to realise how are they wrong IN the argument.(I am talking for the kid, not the obese woman)However on the other hand, people who arent in the argument gets a clearer perspect on things and can differentiate between who is right and who is wrong. But other than that I totally agree with about the other things.
